January isn’t always the best time to reset - April might be. April Theory, a trend that’s gained traction on TikTok, reframes spring as the real new year. It makes sense: the days are longer, energy is rising, and motivation starts to thaw. If you’re feeling ready to reorganise, recommit, or reimagine your goals, now’s the perfect moment. Here’s how to apply April Theory like a leader:
-
Start small. Don’t underestimate the power of tiny wins. Even big things start small. Set realistic goals to build momentum and confidence.
-
Create routine (but keep it flexible). Discipline fuels progress, but rigidity kills it. If you want to write a book, you need dedicated writing time. Waiting until you ‘find the time’ doesn’t work - something always comes up. Build habits into a flexible framework that works with life, not against it.
- Think in seasons, not years. Annual resolutions can feel overwhelming. Instead, set 90-day goals. Ask: What can I accomplish by the end of June? Seasonal thinking creates focus, urgency, and clarity - powerful tools for any leader.
