A great presentation depends on more than the quality of the information you’re sharing, it’s about clarity, flow and confidence. I plan to spend part of this weekend helping a friend prepare a critical slide deck for an important meeting, a timely reminder that simplicity, structure and storytelling always win the day.
-
Choose the right fonts. Use a sans-serif typeface such as Montserrat for a modern, professional look. Stick to two font styles throughout your presentation - one for headings and another for body text - and ensure consistency. Keep body text at a minimum of 30-point size, and titles around 36 points.
-
Opt for high-contrast colours. Limit your palette to two or three main colours to keep slides clean and readable.
-
Use images with purpose. One powerful image per slide reinforces your message without distraction.
- Keep it clean. Favour white space, bullet points and clear hierarchy; your slides should support your story, not compete with it.
