We all have days when we feel overwhelmed at work and when it seems like everything is going wrong. But we still have things that need to be done and taking a break is not an option. Here are some tips on how you can push through:
- Find a task that is familiar and not taxing. Often when we perform highly familiar tasks, it’s easy to become occupied with them and it just goes with the flow. Finishing a task in one go will also give you satisfaction.
- Take up a task that you have been avoiding, or something that is aspirational and creative. This can help boost your confidence.
- Undertake only half or two-thirds of the work you usually do as it will make you feel more productive and less overwhelmed.
- Seek support from the ones you trust. Often people you’re not very close with can help you overcome loneliness and stress.
- Instead of simply browsing the internet or drowning yourself in work, choose options that help you feel better and make it easier to bounce back faster.
