10 steps to an excellent wellbeing

Do you want to make your life better? More successful, more productive, more healthy or simply more fulfilling? Most of us do, but we don’t always know where to start. The answer is to change your wellbeing, for the better, one step at a time. Here are 10 actions to help you improve your wellbeing.

  1. Expand your horizons: If you avoid challenging situations then your comfort zone can shrink, leaving you fearful of trying new things. By confronting your fears, you can grow your zone of comfort substantially, which will give you confidence and an appetite for success.

  2. Experience optimum health and vitality: To have great health takes responsibility, awareness and knowledge. If you are healthy and full of vitality, every day can be a gem for both you and those around you.

  3. Get the fitness bug: The first step is to clarify what your goal is; what does ‘fit’ mean to you? Once you know what you’re trying to achieve, creating a programme that will deliver your goal will be that much easier.

  4. Create a career you love: The tasks we undertake, the people we interact with, our place of work and the rewards we receive all play a big part in defining our career and what we do.

  5. Create abundant wealth: True wealth is much more than pounds and dollars. It’s having a wealth of friends, of interests, of knowledge and experience. Wealth, in the financial sense, delivers independence, piece of mind, and the freedom of choice.

  6. Reach out and influence the environment: If we make a choice to ensure that our immediate environment - where we live, work and play - is clean, healthy and ecologically sound, then we can make a positive impact on the world around us.

  7. Create wonderful relationships: Successful relationships with family, friends or colleagues are all based on understanding. To understand family, friends and colleagues you have to show empathy and practice active listening techniques.

  8. Have a vibrant self-image: It is absolutely vital to have a healthy self-image. If you have an unhealthy self-image, an air of negativity created by yourself will hold you back, both personally and professionally.

  9. Give something back: You could give your time to help someone or a group of people. You could raise awareness of an issue. You can even have a great deal of fun raising funds for a worthwhile cause.

  10. Create a strong spiritual bond: Spiritual growth is raising personal consciousness to a higher plane. Strengthening your feeling of connection to all that is around you; feeling whole and being at one with the world.
