How to support Women on International Women’s Day, and beyond

International Women’s Day, celebrated globally on Saturday, 8 March 2025, is not merely a day to honour women - it is a call to action. Men play a crucial role in gender equality, from amplifying women’s voices to challenging bias. Real change happens when everyone is involved. Here are five meaningful ways we can show support - not just today, but every day.

  • Listening and learning. Educate yourself on gender equality issues without expecting women to do the work for you.
     
  • Amplifying women’s voices. Promote and credit women’s ideas in meetings, social media, and everyday conversations.
     
  • Challenging bias. Call out sexism, whether it’s in the workplace, at home, or in social settings.
     
  • Advocating for equity. Support policies like equal pay, parental leave, and flexible work.
     
  • Sharing the load. Take on household and caregiving responsibilities equally.
