Leadership Tip

How to work from home more effectively

Working from home has several benefits, but there are potential downsides too, such as isolation and Zoom fatigue. Here are some tips to mitigate such issues.

  • Set up a workspace: Have something like a paper pad or an inspirational quote at your desk. This will tell your brain that work is “on”.
  • Incorporate strategic breaks during the day. Follow your internal cues to decide when and for how long.
  • Do not indulge in emails all day. That can hit productivity.
  • Have a clock-out ritual. For instance, you could end your day by placing all work-related items in a drawer. This will help your brain compartmentalise.
