How to stay focused when everything feels stressful and overwhelming

A pandemic, looming recession, rise in company layoffs, supply chain issues, pain at the pump, skyrocketing mortgage rates - the hits just keep on coming. When so much of the news is filled with doom and disruption, it is easy to get overwhelmed and distracted. So how do we not let life stressors get in the way of our productivity?

  1. Write it down. Whatever may be concerning you, try a "brain dump" on paper.
  2. Create an action plan. Having goals can always help you stay the course.
  3. Alleviate the racing thoughts by getting them out. Activities such as meditation or journaling can help with this.
