If you've ever considered enlisting the help of a life coach, this may be the time. Now, go stand in front of the mirror. Voila, it is you! With the festive holiday approaching - which can be difficult for many - and the spread of the new COVID-19 variant, Omicron, the ability to mentally coach yourself is particularly important now. Your mental wellbeing relies on self-determination, or what psychologists describe as the ability to show yourself compassion and to self-regulate. Here are some more tips on how to be your own life coach:
- Switch off the noise, such as apps, notifications, news, etc., and set boundaries.
- Start reflecting or take control of your time.
- It is the little things that matter, so find joy in simple, small stuff.
- Accept the good and bad feelings and remember, it is okay not to feel okay.
